There are dozens of skills in The Sims 4 but gaining these can be extremely tedious and honestly take many days out of your sim’s life just to max out a skill. Sometimes as a player you just want to further your storytelling or gain skills without putting in true effort and that’s where sims 4 skill cheats come into play.
There’s no morality in cheating in this game and using any of the cheats that are available to us honestly makes the game more fun and allows you to tell better stories. You can have sims start out their lives with skills so they can get promotions faster, earn more money with things like the painting skill or just be better at social interactions with things like the charisma skill.

How to Enable Cheats
There is actually a system in the game where many cheats require you to enable cheats before they will work properly but this is a very simple process for you to do. The first thing you need to do is open up the cheat dialogue box which is done in one of three ways depending on the device you’re using:
- PC: Ctrl + Shift + C
- Mac: Command + Shift + C
- Console: All Four Triggers
Once you do this the cheat box will open at the top of the screen and this is where you’ll type in testingcheats true and hit enter and when you do this you’ll see the game telling you that cheats are enabled.
When you see this message from the game you’ll be free to use whatever cheats you want to use and they should work most of the time.

Acting Skill Cheat (Get Famous)
The acting skill is a skill that came to the game with The Sims 4: Get Famous and lets your sims learn how to act so they can succeed in the acting career. Cheating this skill is super easy and requires you to know the base of the skill which is stats.set_skill_level Major_Acting X with the X acting as a placeholder for whatever level of the skill you want your sim to have.
Acting is a major skill in the game and this means that filling the X with the number 10 would max out your sim’s skill. The acting skill cheat would look like stats.set_skill_level Major_Acting 10 and would immediately max out the skill. You have the option to use other skill levels too like getting level 3 of the skill would look like this stats.set_skill_level Major_Acting 3.
Archaeology Skill Cheat (Jungle Adventure)
The archaeology skill is one of those weird ones that you’ll probably not use a ton but is a fun addition to the game. It came to The Sims with The Sims 4: Jungle Adventure and will let your sims do a lot in the world of Selvodorada.
Using the archaeology skill cheat is extremely simple and requires you to remember the base of the skill stats.set_skill_level Major_Archaeology X with the X acting as a placeholder for whatever level from one to ten of the skill that your sim would like to have.
For example, if you want your sim to max the skill you’d use stats.set_skill_level Major_Archaeology 10 but if you want your sim to have level 5 of the skill you’d want to us stats.set_skill_level Major_Archaeology 5.
Baking Skill Cheat (Get to Work)
We were given the ability to bake things like breadsticks and cupcakes with The Sims 4: Get to Work when we finally got a baking skill in the game. This skill is annoying to earn because to truly explore it you have to have space for the awful cupcake machine so cheating this skill is fair game.
The base of the baking skill cheat is stats.set_skill_level Major_Baking X with the X acting as a placeholder for you to put whatever level of the skill you want your sim to have.
If you want your sim to get their baking skill maxed out you’d use stats.set_skill_level Major_Baking 10 but if you want them to only get to let’s say level 2 of the skill you’d use stats.set_skill_level Major_Baking 2.
Bowling Skill Cheat (Bowling Night)
Who doesn’t love a good night of bowling? The bowling skill came to the game with The Sims 4: Bowling Night Stuff and allows your sims to show off their prowess at the lanes with their friends.
The bowling skill cheat has a base of stats.set_skill_level Skill_Bowling X with you switching the placeholder X for any level of the skill between 1 and 5 since it is just a minor skill and only has five levels.
If you want your sims to max the skill you’d use stats.set_skill_level Skill_Bowling 5 or swap that 5 out for any number from 1 to 4 for other levels. Such a simple way to become a master bowler.
Charisma Skill Cheat
Our next sims 4 skill cheat comes for the charisma skill which allows your sims to practice speeches in the mirror, slowly get better at socializing and have a better time being romantic with other sims as they earn it.
The charisma skill cheat has a base that is simple to remember which is stats.set_skill_level Major_CharismaX where you’ll fill the X with whatever level of the skill you want your sim to have between one and ten.
For example, a sim who wants to max the skill would use stats.set_skill_level Major_Charisma10 but a sim who wants to have level 4 of the skill would use stats.set_skill_level Major_Charisma4.
Comedy Skill Cheat
The comedy skill is a great one to learn in The Sims 4 because it allows your sims to get better at jokes and definitely progress through the entertainer career more quickly. However, gaining comedy is tedious and using the skill cheat makes it so much more fun.
The base of the comedy skill cheat is stats.set_skill_level Major_ComedyX where you’re going to swap the X for whatever level of the comedy skill your sim wants or needs.
For example, a sim who wishes to max the skill would use stats.set_skill_level Major_Comedy10 but a sim who wants level 5 would use stats.set_skill_level Major_Comedy5.
Cooking Skill Cheat
If you want to avoid fire in The Sims 4 this may be the most important skill for you to earn as your sims will be constantly using this skill to stay alive. The cooking skill will be a must-know for every sim you play unless you decide to cheat their needs.
The base of this skill is often harder to remember as it says homestyle cooking as a way to differentiate it from the gourmet cooking skill instead of it just being cooking. The base is stats.set_skill_level Major_HomestyleCookingX where you’ll replace the X with the level of the skill you want to have.
For example a sim who wants to complete the cooking skill at the highest level would use stats.set_skill_level Major_HomestyleCooking10 but if you want level 3 of the skill you’d use stats.set_skill_level Major_HomestyleCooking3.
Cross Stitching Skill Cheat (Cottage Living)
There are so many wonderful hobby skills for you to play with in The Sims 4 and in 2021 we got The Sims 4: Cottage Living and with that came the cross stitching skill. This skill lets your sims create gorgeous cross stitch designs to decorate their homes with.
The cross-stitching skill cheat lets you skip past the earning of the skill and just be great at it immediately. The base of this skill is stats.set_skill_level Skill_CrossStitch X where you’ll need to replace the X with whatever level of the skill you’d like your sim to have.
There are 5 levels of this skill so you’ll want to use stats.set_skill_level Skill_CrossStitch 5 to max out the skill or stats.set_skill_level Skill_CrossStitch 3 if you want to be somewhere in the middle.
Dancing Skill Cheat (Get Together)
Our next skill came to the game with The Sims 4: Get Together and lets your sims learn the dancing skill. This will let them learn how to be a better dancer and eventually participate in dance battles with friends or foes.
The dancing skill cheat is great because it will let you skip the earning the skill on your own and let you be a great dancer immediately. The base of this skill that you need to know is stats.set_skill_level Minor_Dancing X and you’ll want to replace the X with a number from 1 to 5 depending on what level of the skill you want.
Since this is a minor skill there are only five levels so maxing this skill will have you using stats.set_skill_level Minor_Dancing 5. If you want to get a level 2 of the skill you’ll want to use stats.set_skill_level Minor_Dancing 2 to make that happen.
DJ Mixing Skill Cheat (Get Together)
The DJ Mixing Skill came to the game with The Sims 4: Get Together and lets your sims use a DJ Booth to play some of the best music you’ll ever hear… if they’re good at it!
The DJ Mixing skill cheat is a great one if you want your sims to skip through gaining it. This cheat’s base is stats.set_skill_level Major_DJ X and you’ll fill the X placeholder with whatever level of the skill you’d like to have.
For example if you want to max the skill you’ll want to use stats.set_skill_level Major_DJ 10 but if you want to have level 5 of the skill you’d change it to stats.set_skill_level Major_DJ 5.
Entrepreneur Skill Cheat (High School Years)
With The Sims 4: High School Years we got the awesome entrepreneur skill that allows your sims to have a side hustle, earn more income from it, and even apply to be on Llama’s Lair.
The entrepreneur skill cheat is simple with a base that is stat.set_skill_level adultminor_entrepreneur X where you’ll replace the X with a number between one and five. There are only five levels of the skill to earn, so maxing it will be level 5.
Fabrication Skill Cheat (Eco Lifestyle)
With The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle you can decorate your entire home with furniture you create with the fabrication skill but earning this skill will take you quite a bit of time unless you decide to cheat it.
The fabrication skill cheat has a base that is stats.set_skill_level AdultMajor_Fabrication X where you’ll want to replace the X with the level of the skill from 1 to 10 that you’d like your selected sim to have.
This means that if you want to max the skill you’ll use stats.set_skill_level AdultMajor_Fabrication 10 but getting to level 5 you would use stats.set_skill_level AdultMajor_Fabrication 5.
Fishing Skill Cheat
Fishing is one of those horribly tedious skills to gain in this game and definitely require you to use skill cheats. Earning this skill on your own requires your sims to stand by a body of water for hours and hours on end and it honestly just isn’t worth it.
The fishing skill cheat is awesome because you can skip the earning of the skill and start catching better fish. The base of this skill cheat you need to know is stats.set_skill_level Major_Fishing X and you’ll replace the X with whatever level of the skill you’d like to have from level 1 to 10.
For example, if you want to max the skill out you’ll use stats.set_skill_level Major_Fishing 10 or if you want level 5 of the skill you’ll use stats.set_skill_level Major_Fishing 5.
Fitness Skill Cheat
Exercising in real life is hard enough, why do it in your favourite game? Working out on treadmills and exercise machines is such a boring way to spend your relaxing game time so using cheats is the way to go!
The fitness skill cheat is a great way to avoid any use of exercise equipment so you can get those athlete career promotions. The base of this cheat you need to know is stats.set_skill_level Skill_Fitness X where you fill the X with whatever level of the skill you’d like to have.
For example, wanting to max the skill would have you using stats.set_skill_level Skill_Fitness 10 or if you want to get something like level 7 of the skill you’d throw in stats.set_skill_level Skill_Fitness 7 to the cheat box.
Flower Arranging Skill Cheat (Seasons)
Flower arranging is such a beautiful skill in The Sims 4 since you can decorate with fresh flowers, use them to earn an income and even use the flower arranging death type.
The flower arranging skill cheat is a great way to skip past the effort and be great at this skill really quick. The base of this cheat is stats.set_skill_level statistic_skill_AdultMajor_FlowerArranging X with the X being a placeholder for whatever level of the skill you’d like to have between 1 and 10.
For example, to max the skill you’d want to use stats.set_skill_level statistic_skill_AdultMajor_FlowerArranging 10 and you’ll max it out. Wanting a level like level 7 would require you to have stats.set_skill_level statistic_skill_AdultMajor_FlowerArranging 7.
Gardening Skill Cheat
One of the most commonly gained skills in The Sims 4 is the gardening skill but it’s a rather complicated one that can benefit from using a skill cheat. You can really make money with gardening but it requires you to work very hard and cheating is just easier!
The gardening skill cheat has a base that is stats.set_skill_level Major_Gardening X with the X being a placeholder for the level of the skill you’d like your sim to have between level 1 and level 10.
If you want to have your sim completely max out the skill they’d use stats.set_skill_level Major_Gardening 10 but if you want your sim to get to level 4 of the skill you’l use stats.set_skill_level Major_Gardening 4.
Gourmet Cooking Skill Cheat
Gourmet cooking is a second stage of cooking that your sims can start learning about in the game and is the key to being able to resurrect your sim’s from death with ambrosia. Cheating this skill is a must-do if a sim dies unexpectedly!
The gourmet cooking skill cheat starts with the base of stats.set_skill_level major_gourmetcooking X where you’ll want to replace that X placeholder with a level of the skill between 1 and 10.
For an example, you’d use stats.set_skill_level Major_GourmetCooking 10 to max out the skill completely or use stats.set_skill_level Major_GourmetCooking 3 to get to level 3 of the skill.
Guitar Skill Cheat
Playing music with your sim’s guitar skill is a great way to keep your sims having fun and even get them to earn an income through licensing songs and earning royalties. You really don’t want to listen to your sim’s play the guitar poorly, so cheating this skill is a necessity to save your ears.
The guitar skill cheat has a base of stats.set_skill_level Major_Guitar X where you’ll use X as a placeholder and you’ll fill that X with whatever level of the skill you’d like your sims to have.
For example, you’ll want to use stats.set_skill_level Major_Guitar 10 to max out the skill but if you just want to get to level 5 of the skill where it starts to sound better you’ll want to use stats.set_skill_level Major_Guitar 5.
Handiness Sims 4 Skill Cheats
Your handiness skill in The Sims 4 is the key to having tons of positive moodlets through upgrading your appliances and even your sim’s bed. Gaining this skill takes a lot of effort and a lot of money wasted on horrible woodworking, so why not cheat it?
The base of the handiness skill cheat looks like this stats.set_skill_level Major_Handiness X where the X is a placeholder that you’ll replace with whatever level of the handiness skill you want your sim to have between one and ten.
For example, maxing out this skill looks like this stats.set_skill_level Major_Handiness 10 but getting to level 4 would look like this stats.set_skill_level Major_Handiness 4.
Herbalism Skill Cheat (Outdoor Retreat)
The herbalism skill is one of those ones that’s super fun to play with but I often forget that it even exists. You can do a lot with it so why not use the herbalism skill cheat to get yourself higher in the skill!
The base of this skill cheat looks like stats.set_skill_level Major_Herbalism X with the X being a placeholder where you’ll replace it with any level of the skill between one and ten.
For example if you want your sim to max out the skill you’ll use stats.set_skill_level Major_Herbalism 10 and if you want to be somewhere in the middle you may use stats.set_skill_level Major_Herbalism 6.
Juice Fizzing Skill Cheat (Eco Lifestyle)
Juice fizzing came to the game with The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle and lets your sims turn ingredients into delicious beverages for your sims to consume.
The base of this skill cheat is stats.set_skill_level AdultMinor_JuiceFizzing X where you’ll replace the X with a number between one and five depending on what level of the skill cheat you’d like to have.
Knitting Skill Cheat (Nifty Knitting)
Nifty knitting was a fan-voted stuff pack and brought a lot of really fun gameplay to The Sims 4. The knitting skill lets your sims play around and make things like sweaters, toys and home decor for your sim’s home.
The base of the knitting skill cheat is stats.set_skill_level AdultMajor_knitting X where you’ll just want to replace the X with a level of the skill you’d like to have.
Logic Sims 4 Skill Cheats
Every single player has had to earn the logic skill at some point in their gameplay and many of us are sick of having to gain it again and again. This is why this skill cheat is so necessary in my gameplay.
The base of the logic skill cheat is going to be stats.set_skill_level Major_Logic X where you’re just going to swap out the X for a number between one and ten for whatever level you want.
Media Production Skill Cheat (Get Famous)
Media production is a skill that came to the game with The Sims 4: Get Famous and lets you create music and videos for an income.
The base of this media production skill cheat is stats.set_skill_level Minor_Media X where you’d just want to switch the X for a number between one and five.
Medium Skill Cheat (Paranormal)
The medium skill came to The Sims 4 with Paranormal Stuff and is an extremely fun skill for us to play around with. Your sims are able to play around with ghosts, host seances and just have a great time in haunted houses.
The base of the medium skill cheat is going to be stats.set_skill_level minor_medium X where you’ll want to replace the X with a number between one and five since there are only five levels of this skill.
Mischief Skill Cheat
Mischief is a really fun skill for your sims to earn and you can even have your sims play around with a voodoo doll. Your evil or mean sims are going to absolutely love playing around with this mischief skill and will love it even more when they can have a high skill.
Your mischief skill cheat is simple with the base of the skill being stats.set_skill_level major_bartending X where you swap the X for a number between one and ten.
Mixology Skill Cheat
Your sims are able to do a lot with the mixology skill including making fun drinks and even being able to kill sims with beetle juice. It’s one of those not necessary skills but a really fun one to earn.
The base of the mixology skill cheat is stats.set_skill_level major_bartending X which is interesting because it’s not mixology but bartending, so watch out for that. The X at the end is just a placeholder where you’ll swap it for a number between one and ten that corresponds to the level of the skill you’d like your sim to have.
Painting Sims 4 Skill Cheats
The painting skill is one of those ones that we got with the base game, that every player uses and uses often so knowing the sims 4 skill cheats code for this one is super important. The skill is so good for earning money, and decorating your home so a great one to know.

Parenting Skill Cheat (Parenthood)
Parenting is a great skill to play around with in The Sims 4 if you’re a family gameplay lover. This skill lets you mess around with teaching your kids new things, helping them gain new skills like responsibility and empathy and so much more.

Pet Training Skill Cheat (Cats & Dogs)
If you want your sims to have great pets, you’ll want to train them to be well behaved and super smart. The pet training skill is going to let you teach your dogs how to sit, speak and even eventually run an obstacle course.

Photography is one of those skills that gets used often in my game because I love having pictures of my sims on the wall. This skill is super fun to play around with, with all the different poses, and fun things you can take photos of.
The base you need to know for the photography skill cheat is stats.set_skill_level major_photography X where you’ll want to swap out the X for a number between one and ten corresponding to whatever level of the skill you’d like to have.
Piano Skill Cheat
The piano skill is a simple one that came with the base game and lets your sims write songs, and even license them to earn an income. This skill can hurt your ears if your sim isn’t very good at playing it, so the skill cheat is a good one to use.
Your base for the piano skill cheat is going to be stats.set_skill_level major_Piano X where you’ll swap the X for a number between 1 and 10 corresponding with whatever level you want your sim to have.
Pipe Organ Skill Cheat (Vampires)
The pipe organ skill is a fun one for your sims to gain, unless they’re really bad at it because it will sound horrible. That’s why sims 4 skill cheats are so necessary because some skills are going to hurt your ears.

Since programming has been in the game since the start, we’ve all played around with it. It’s one of those simple and super fun skills to mess around with and lets your sims earn a decent income through hacking and making apps.

Research & Debate Skill Cheat (Discover University)
If you really want to get an A in University the key to your success will be earning or cheating the research and debate skill. This skill will get your sims to do their homework more quickly, finish papers faster and just generally do better in school so it’s a must have.
The base of the research and debate cheat is stats.set_skill_level Major_ResearchDebate X with the X at the end acting as a placeholder for you to replace with any number of the skill between 1 and 10.
For example, maxing the skill you’d want to use stats.set_skill_level Major_ResearchDebate 10 but if you only want to get to the middle with level five of the skill you’d use stats.set_skill_level Major_ResearchDebate 5.
Robotics Skill Cheat (Discover University)
You can really have fun when playing with the Robotics Skill in the game and you can even craft your own robots. These robots are awesome because they can help your sims by playing music, doing the gardening or even cleaning up after them.
The robotics skill cheat is great because it’ll let you skip past earning the skill and the base of the cheat is stats.set_skill_level major_robotics X but you’ll replace the X with whatever level between one and ten that you want your sims to have.
Rock Climbing Skill Cheat (Snowy Escape)
Our next sims 4 skill cheat that you need to know is for the rock climbing skill where your sims can use the rock climbing machine, climb up a mountain or go on an excursion. This cheat is a must-know because there is a death chance if your sims get injured too much on a climb.
The rock climbing skill cheat is super easy and goes right along with the others with the base being stats.set_skill_level major_rockclimbing X where you’ll replace the X with a number between 1 and 10 depending what level you want of the skill.
Rocket Science Sims 4 Skill Cheats
The rocket science skill came to The Sims 4 with the base game and lets your sims go to planet Sixam, have a grilled cheese sandwich in space and even woohoo inside a rocket ship. Why not let your sims have a rocket ship in their back yard?

There are some random skills in The Sims 4 and this one definitely falls into that category for me. This skill focuses your sims on getting to know locals, learning information about the world and more.
Cheating this skill starts with a base of stats.set_skill_level minor_localculture X where you’d replace the X at the end with a number between one and five of the skill that you’d like your sims to have.
Singing Skill Cheat (City Living)
