What is ProjectDox? ›

ProjectDox (part of ePlan) is a web-based solution that lets customers initiate and complete the plan submission, review and approval process online, rather than using a manual, paper-based process. You will need a ProjectDox account to upload all documents and drawings for Building, Planning, and Zoning applications.

Applicants have the ability to delete files during the pre-screening process only. Once the initial review cycle has been completed, files can only be deleted by ProjectDox staff. If you need a file removed, please send a request to darnell.watkins@dc.gov.

Drawings minimum size should be 18" x 24". This is not mandatory but will help facilitate more efficient review of the plans. The bottom right corner of all drawings should be reserved for DCRA Electronic Stamp.

Do I need a permit to replace my old water heater? Yes. A permit is required to ensure that the equipment and installation procedures are in compliance with the Florida Building Code and any other applicable City requirements.

NOTE: For a Building permit application it usually takes 14 business days for the first cycle of review to be completed. For a Special permit application, it usually takes 35 business days for the first cycle of review to be completed.

A building permit is required to install a shed/utility storage or aluminum terrace/patio covers and related projects.

Add/Update Your Building Professional

Once in iBuild, select 'Manage Application' and select Add/Update Contractor (GC, subs like electricians, etc.). You will need your contractor's company + qualifier license number, as they have to be registered to do work in the City of Miami.

By dialing 311 or 305-468-5900 (outside Miami-Dade County), you can receive personalized customer service in English, Spanish or Haitian Creole. The 311 Contact Center is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., while closed on Sundays and holidays.

Documents are recorded at the Clerk of the Courts, MIAMI-DADE COUNTY RECORDER, COURTHOUSE EAST, 22 N.W. First Street, 1st Floor, Miami, FL 33128. You can record the Notice of Commencement by mail. The original Notice should be sent to the County Recorder, P.O. Box 011711, Flagler Station, Miami, Florida 33101.
