Why You Will Love This Recipe

Guys, this cherry sorbet is life-changing after making it in the Ninja Creami and you won't believe how easy it is!

When you have leftover cherries or any fruit just turn it into sorbet and make it in the NInja creami using the sorbet setting.

This method can be done with any type of fruit as well. In fact, any type of melon fruit such as cantaloupe, honey dew, or musk melon will be great if you don't like watermelon.

Ingredients Needed

  • 3 cups of pitted cherries (see notes)
  • ½ cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 lime, juiced

How to Make Cherry Sorbet

Add the pitted cherries, water, sugar, and lime to a blender and puree.

Add the cherry puree mixture to the pint that came with the Ninja Creami and set the pint in the freezer for 24 hours.

When the ice cream is ready use the Sorbet setting on your Ninja Creami machine.
Choose respin again until it’s the desired consistency you like.
Enjoy!

Recipe FAQs

Can I use frozen fruit in my Ninja Creami?

Using frozen fruit is ok in a Ninja Creami but I prefer fresh fruit over frozen. There's just something about using frozen fruit and adding it to the pint. It's like it's being frozen twice and I don't think that's necessary.

Why is my Ninja sorbet crumbly after the first spin?

Sometimes after the first spin, the fruit will almost appear to look like powder. I like to add any type of fruit juice and then spin it for a second time.

Do I need an ice cream machine to make this?

No, you do not need an ice cream machine to make this. All you need is a food processor or blender.

How do I store leftover ice cream?

That's the great thing about NInja Creami's you can just keep it in the pint it came with!

FAQs

Can I put frozen fruit in my Ninja Creami? ›

Ninja CREAMi Ice Cream Maker

We love our Creami. To use your frozen fruit, follow your instructions from the recipes that came with your Creami. If you want to make fruit ice cream thaw your fruit, place in a food processor and mix it with the vanilla ice cream recipe.

What makes the smooth and creamy texture in sorbet? ›

Ice cream machines work by churning / aerating mixtures whilst freezing them. As the mixture freezes, the churning action breaks down large ice crystals, producing that creamy smooth texture we know and love.

Does the Ninja ice cream maker come with a recipe book? ›

Unboxing the Ninja ice cream maker

Usefully, this ice cream maker comes with a large recipe book as well as three one-pint containers with lids that are used both to mix the ice cream and store it afterwards.

How do you use canned fruit in Ninja Creami? ›

Pour the canned diced peaches and their liquid into a Ninja Creami pint container, being careful not to exceed the max fill line. If you're adding any sweetener, go ahead and stir it in now. Taste and adjust as needed. Freeze.

What happens if you don't freeze Ninja Creami for 24 hours? ›

Skipping this crucial step may lead to uneven textures, detracting from the indulgent experience you seek from your home-made dessert. The whole premise of the Ninja Creami machine is that it operates differently than a traditional ice cream maker, which uses a churning process.

Why does my Ninja Creami come out powdery? ›

My frozen treat looks crumbly or powdery after processing. When bases are frozen in very cold freezers, they may come out crumbly. After running a One-Touch Program, use the RE-SPIN Program to make your frozen treat smoother and creamier.

What is the secret of a good sorbet? ›

Sugar plays a larger roll in the sorbet than just sweetening the fruit juice. It's also crucial for the sorbet's texture. Too little sugar and the sorbet becomes icy, too much and it can be slushy — hit the sugar level just right and the sorbet will taste creamy and melt evenly across your tongue.

Why is my homemade sorbet so hard? ›

If your sorbet is rock-hard after churning and freezing: Allow it to sit on the counter for 5 minutes to soften before scooping OR. Melt the base back down to liquid, add more sugar, or a bit of corn syrup, or a splash of alcohol, then re-churn and refreeze.

Why do you add alcohol to sorbet? ›

Adding a bit of hard alcohol like vodka, tequila, or whiskey—all of which run around forty percent alcohol—to a frozen dessert helps prevent big ice crystals from forming in the mixture, resulting in a softer texture. You can freeze the water around it, but you can't freeze vodka.

What are the limitations of the Ninja Creami? ›

Because the thick blades of the Creami can't fully reach the edges or bottom of the pint containers, though, the appliance leaves sections of totally unmixed, frozen base. So even if the blended parts are impressively smooth, depending on how carefully you scoop, you're likely to get some icy bits in your bowl.

Why does my Ninja Creami smell like it's burning? ›

But it takes a lot of force to repeatedly drill a blade through material that's frozen solid, and we could tell that the machine was working hard—maybe too hard. As we tested the Creami, it shook and smelled of burning plastic more than once. One taster even detected a burnt-plastic flavor in the ice cream.

Why is Ninja Creami better than ice cream maker? ›

The Ninja works in reverse

The Creami requires the ice cream mixture itself to be completely frozen but no part of the machine needs such treatment. Because of that, you can make as many varieties as you want in a single day, just as long as you've remembered to mix them and freeze them the day before.

Can I put soda in Ninja Creami? ›

Pour mixture into an empty CREAMi™ Pint. Add cola and stir with a spoon to combine and eliminate the carbonation. Place storage lid on pint and freeze for 24 hours.

Why is my Ninja Creami not creamy? ›

After your first spin, sometimes you open it and find that your ice cream is crumbly or powdery. Don't stop now. Just add a tablespoon or two of liquid and spin on respin. If your ice cream has been in the freezer a long time or your freezer is extra cold, you may even have to repeat the respin several times.

Can I make a smoothie in my Ninja Creami? ›

Fill an empty CREAMi™ Pint to the MAX FILL line with bananas and strawberries and mix until evenly distributed.
  1. 225g fresh ripe banana, cut in 1/2-inch pieces.
  2. 165g fresh ripe strawberries, trimmed, cut in quarters.
  3. 2 tablespoons vanilla protein powder.
  4. 85g raw agave nectar.
  5. 60ml pineapple juice.

Can you put frozen strawberries in the Ninja CREAMi? ›

Strawberries: fresh OR frozen. If you use frozen strawberries then you'll likely need a little liquid to get your blender going. You can just add in a splash of water but you could also use milk of any kind. Sugar: I've made this with AND without sugar and both turn out great.
